- We provide a breakdown of where to get fuel along the route and distances between fill-up points.
- It’s recommended to reserve fuel for 600km
- It is recommended that you be competent with basic 4x4 experience.
- Camping with facilities, toilets, hot water & showers for first & last 2 night. Power available.
- Wild Camping for one night. No power.
- Rustic Bush Camp with toilet & cold shower for 2 nights. No power.
- The terrain is mostly gravel with some mountain passes, tracks, sandy sections and some tar.
- The route is generally a Grade 3 with some deep sand sections possible.
- The route is not frequently travelled and can have wash-aways that may need packing to get through, etc.
- There are some river crossings which are normally dry, but will require drivers to walk first to clear boulders, etc. if flowing.
- Adverse weather and rain can result in the routes becoming Grade 4 and the gravel roads becoming very muddy.
- You can tow a 4x4 trailer or caravan on this route.
- Self-catering camping.
- Braai wood supplied.
