It is recommended that you be competent with good 4x4 experience from a few 4x4 tours.
- Camping with facilities, toilets, hot water & showers.
- Power available.
- Self-catering available.
- The terrain is mostly gravel roads with some forest tracks and some tar.
- The Mountain passes are normally Grade 3 and can have wash-aways that may need packing to get through, etc.
- There is one technical rock section.
- There are sections through the forest that may require clearing of fallen trees or overgrowth.
- The Katberg Pass is not passable due to a massive landslide, but it can be reached from the top and then returned by the same way.
- Adverse weather and rain can result in the Mountain passes becoming Grade 4 and the gravel roads becoming very muddy.
- You can tow a 4x4 trailer or caravan to the campsite.
- Self-catering camping.
- Braai wood supplied.
- A recommended meal plan is provided.
- You have to cook your own meals.
- Option for meals at Restaurants on some of the routes.
