Route Details

Total distance: Approximately 170 km
Terrain: 130 km of gravel and off-road tracks
Vehicle requirements: You will need a 4x4 with Low Range, high clearance & Diff-lock. Rear diff-lock or traction control is recommended. No 4x4 trailers or caravans can be towed on this route.
Start & End Point: Kei Mouth
Drivers must walk river crossings before driving.
Participants must be experienced 4x4 drivers.

Taster Itinerary

Arrival Day - Morgans Bay

Day 1 - Morgans Bay to Trennerys

Visit the Double Drift River Mouth before heading to Kei Mouth to start your adventure by taking the Kei Mouth Ferry. Enjoy breathtaking views from the Kei Mouth View Point before proceeding to the Gxara River Crossing. Don’t miss the stunning Gxara Falls before arriving at Trennerys for the night.

Day 2 – Trennerys to Wavecrest

Begin the day with a Qolora Crossing and explore the serene Qolora Marsh. Discover the beauty of Gates Waterfall and cross the Qolora again. Journey through the Ncizele Upstream Crossing and visit the historic Jacaranda Shipwreck. Cross the Khobonqabe on route to the Takasi Waterfall before reaching Wavecrest.

Day 3 - Wavecrest to Trennerys

Cross the Ngqusi River and, if conditions allow, take the Inxaxo Crossing or opt for the gravel escape route. Visit the picturesque Cebe River Mouth and make a stop at Kentani before heading back to Trennerys.

Day 4 – Trennerys to Kei Mouth

Conclude your trip by taking the Kei Mouth Ferry back to where the adventure began.
