Trip Details

Distance: About 500 km, mainly on gravel and off-road paths.
Vehicle: A 4x4 with high ground clearance and low-range capability is necessary.
Towing: You can tow 4x4 trailers and caravans, but be ready for deep sand.
Start: Strandfontein
End: Springbok
Fuel: Ensure fuel for at least 500 km, ideally 550 km for safety.

Itinerary

Arrival – Strandfontein
The journey begins at Doringbaai, leading into the charming town of Strandfontein.

Day 1 - Strandfontein to Platbaai
Start your adventure at Seething Rock Beacon, then travel through Lutzville and Koekenaap. Experience the thrill of the West Coast 4x4 Route and visit picturesque spots like Middlestrandbaai, Pikkersbaai, and Brandsebaai. Explore the Sout River Mouth, Cawood Salt Pans, Sewjaarskop Mouth, and Sakkiesbaai before encountering the Langklip Seal Colony. End the day at Platbaai.

Day 2 - Platbaai to Bouldersbaai
Discover Voelklip and its fascinating shipwreck. Navigate the Caracal Eco 4x4 Eco Route, then enjoy the serene beauty of Kwass se Baai and Koringkorrel Bay, finally reaching Bouldersbaai.

Day 3 - Bouldersbaai to Hondeklipbaai
Visit the mysterious Spoegrivier Caves, then head to Hondeklipbaai. Explore shipwrecks like the Aristea and Jahleel, and enjoy the unique ambience of Hondeklip and Honne Pondokkies.

Day 4 - Hondeklipbaai to Kleinzee
Pass through Koiingnaas and take on the Shipwreck 4x4 Route, which includes wrecks like Luna, Pirating, Surveyor, Arosa, Dunblaine, and Border. Discover Jakkalsbaai and Langbaai before arriving in Kleinzee.

Day 5 - Kleinzee to Goegap
Visit the Boer War Grave, traverse Sandhoogte Pass, and visit the town of Springbok. Conclude your day at the Goegap Private Reserve.

Day 6 – Goegap
Depart at your leisure or choose to extend your adventure with the Double Up Tour Option, featuring the Richtersveld Eco Trail 4x4 Adventure.
