  • Vehicle Requirements: A 4x4 with high clearance and low-range gear is needed. You can tow 4x4 trailers and caravans.
  • Terrain: Expect steep climbs and sharp bends. Some areas may need road clearing.
  • Start Point: Patensie
  • End Point: The Craggs

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Baviaanskloof East Gate
Begin your journey in Patensie, where you can explore the Queen Victoria Rock and navigate the scenic Combrink Pass. Experience the unique Baviaans Cableway and traverse the Holgat, Langkop, and Grasnek Passes before reaching Dooringkloof.

Day 2 - Baviaanskloof to Prince Albert
Visit the Campbell Monument and shop at Babe se Winkel. Drive through Studis Poort and Hingoes Pass, then stop at Versos Farm Stall. Discover the Seven Dwarves and continue to Baviaanssleutel and Rasskrans. Journey through Nuwekloof Pass to reach Willowmore, Meiringspoort, Bloupunt Rivierpoort, and Kleinvlei Pass, ending with Aaps Rivierpoort and Kareedouwberg Pass.

Day 3 - Prince Albert to Die Hel
Travel through Witkraanspoort Pass to reach Prince Albert, then tackle the Swartberg Pass. Continue your adventure via Otto Du Plessis and Elands Pass before arriving at Die Hel.

Day 4 - Die Hel
Enjoy breakfast and a history tour of Die Hel, accompanied by a guide vehicle on a self-drive exploration. Enjoy Sundowners & Snacks before viewing the Luminous Scorpions.

Day 5 - Die Hel to Seweweekspoort
Retrace your route through Elands Pass, Otto Du Plessis, and Swartberg Pass. Experience Doringkloof Pass, Huis se Hoogte Pass, and Kruisrivier Poort. Visit Calitzdorp and traverse Huisrivier Pass before reaching Seweweekspoort Pass.

Day 6 - Seweweekspoort to Oudtshoorn
Navigate through Bosluiskloof Pass, Kouveld Pass, and Witnekke Pass. Continue across Perdefonteinpoort Pass, Wasbank Pass, and Volstruisnek Pass, ending with Klein Swartberg Pass and Die Outol Pass. Conclude in Ladismith and Oudtshoorn. 

Day 7 - Oudtshoorn to De Vlugt
Journey through Rus En Vrede Pass and along Ou Muragie Road. Cross Waganpadsnek Pass, Kammanassie Pass, and Potjiesberg Pass, then traverse Prince Alfred’s Pass to reach De Vlugt and make a stop at Angie’s G-Spot.

Day 8 - De Vlugt to The Craggs
Visit the Thomas Charles Baines Memorial and enjoy the view from Buffelsnek Pass and Spitskop Lookout. Drive through Paardekop Pass-1888, Keurboomsrivierhoogte Pass, and finish your journey at The Craggs.
