Trail Details

  • Distance: 805 kilometres, with 710 kilometres off-road.
  • Vehicle needs: A 4x4 vehicle with high ground clearance and low-range capability is required. You can bring 4x4 trailers and caravans, but be prepared for deep sand.
  • Self-Sufficiency: Be ready for five days without fuel, groceries, or water.
  • Note: Space limited to 6 vehicles.

Itinerary

Arrival – Wolseley

Start your adventure by heading to Ceres and camping at Fynbos Farm.

Day 1 - Wolseley to Kagga Kamma

Travel through Ceres, passing scenic passes like Mitchells and Gydo. Explore San Rock Art and Bushman Paintings before camping at Kagga Kamma.

Day 2 - Kagga Kamma to Tankwa

Journey through various passes, stopping at Tankwa Padstal. See the Rock Inscription and Old Kraal, then camp in Tankwa National Park.

Day 3 – Tankwa

Explore Gannaga Passes and the Tankwa area. Visit ruins, a viewpoint, and a historic grave, then return to camp.

Day 4 - Tankwa to Biedouw Valley

Travel from Tankwa to Biedouw Valley, crossing sand and rivers before camping.

Day 5 - Biedouw Valley to Cederberg

Pass through Kouberg and Eselbank, enjoying waterfalls, historic sites, and rock art. Camp in Cederberg.

Day 6 - Cederberg to De Pakhys

Continue through various passes, admiring rock formations and historic graves before camping at De Pakhys.

Departure - De Pakhys

Visit the De Pakhys Pass and historic graves before leaving.
